ALCOHOLISM

Many people think an alcoholic is a broken down old man in shabby clothes drinking on a park bench in the middle of the day. But this is not what alcoholism looks like for most alcoholics.

Alcoholism isn’t defined by how much you drink, what you drink, or where and when you drink.

Alcoholism is recognised as continuing to drink alcohol, regardless of worsening consequences.

Sound familiar?

For some people, alcohol is a social lubricant. It provides a way to relax and enjoy life.

But a problem drinker drinks differently.
